hi I,m home educating my daughter who is 14. I don,t really know what she should be doing at this age as there is not alot of suuport from anywhere so if you can help me I whould be so grateful. If you could also tell me how to do gcse at home. thank you.
Hi, Thanks for your question. I am sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.
Starting to homeschool at this age can seem a bit like being thrown in the deep end! But try not to worry. You just have to take things one step at a time.
I am guessing you are in the UK? You don't have to follow the National Curriculum unless you want to - so you can work with your daughter to decide what homeschool subjects she would like to do. You don't need to worry about what she 'should' be doing at this age - work together to plan what she would like to do - and what subjects would help her in the future.
Why don't you work down my how to homeschool checklist to get you started. If you want to know more about taking GCSE's, then I would recommend you join this group - there is lots of information there about what to do.
There are lots of support groups in the UK online - take a look at some of these groups. They are a great way to find out more about home education, and find out about other homeschoolers in your area.
I wish you both a great homeschooling adventure! I am sure once you have connected with a few people in your area, you will realize what a great opportunity homeschooling can be.
