I have to say that I totally agree with the 'rant'!
I have been teaching fine art to homeschool children for over 20yrs now and counting. I have found them to be absolutely charming, mannered and seem to love learning! Ya! love learning! My experience with these children and their families is always positive and pro-active. And, for the most part these kids are so bright and creative and motivated! I have rarely, no, let me think about this for a minute...no I don't recall having any disciple issues with any homeschoolers, yet have with my students in public schools. Mind you, most of my public school students are also well mannered, creative and motivated but my homeschoolers have an edge.
Also, these days homeschoolers are always going on group field trips to fascinating places where they learn cool stuff with a hands on approach. They meet with other children and their families weekly with the joined quest for education and I see that as being unique to homeschoolers!
So, 3 cheers for homeschool familes because it is a family shared effort where all benefit in the long run and in the moment! Done.
Thanks Jan!
